Get the circle crop right the first time

Make a round profile picture, headshot, team photo, or logo without wrestling with a full design app.

How to crop an image into a circle

You only need an image and a few seconds. The cropper opens straight in your browser, with no account to create and no extra app to install.

01

Add your image

Choose a JPG, PNG, or WebP file, drag it onto the page, or paste it from your clipboard.

02

Frame the circle

Drag the image, adjust the zoom, and change the crop circle size until the face, hair, glasses, or logo has enough breathing room.

03

Pick a size and download

Keep the original crop detail, choose 256 or 512 pixels, or enter a custom size, then save a PNG with transparent corners or a white-background JPG.

Keep the face—not an awkward crop

A profile picture can look fine as a square and still lose a forehead, hairstyle, or pair of glasses inside a round frame. Zoom out slightly and leave a little room around the subject before you download. The live preview shows exactly what stays inside the circle.

The same rule helps with team headshots and logos: keep important details away from the outer edge, where another app may add its own ring or mask.

Need a transparent background? Choose PNG

PNG keeps the area outside your circle transparent, so the image sits cleanly on a website, colored card, or profile header without white corners. JPG does not support transparency, so this cropper fills the background with white instead.

If your round image shows a white box, download the PNG version and make sure the app where you use it preserves transparency.

Choose a size that stays sharp

Use Original detail when you want to keep every pixel available in the crop. Choose 256 or 512 pixels, or enter a custom size from 16 to 4096 pixels, when you need a predictable square file for a profile, directory, or web layout.

A larger download cannot restore detail that was not present in the source photo. Start with the clearest original you have, frame it closely enough to use those pixels well, and avoid enlarging a small image elsewhere.

A private circle cropper with no upload

Your photo is decoded, previewed, and cropped in your browser. It is not sent to an image-processing server—a useful distinction when you're working with a personal headshot or an internal team photo.

There is no signup and no watermark. When the crop looks right, download it and move on.

One round image, plenty of uses

Make a Discord PFP, YouTube profile picture, LinkedIn headshot, team-directory photo, author bio image, or circle logo. The same precise controls work whether the tone is playful, professional, or somewhere in between.

For social profiles, keep the subject comfortably inside the circle. For a logo or website image, choose PNG so the corners stay transparent on different background colors.

Need a 1:1 file without a circular cutout? Use the square image maker to crop the frame or keep the whole image with padding.

Circle crop questions, answered

Straight answers about mobile cropping, transparent backgrounds, image quality, privacy, and profile-ready sizing.

1

How do I crop an image into a circle?

Choose, drop, or paste a JPG, PNG, or WebP image up to 10 MB. Position your subject, adjust the zoom and circle size, then choose an output size and format before downloading.

2

Can I crop a photo into a circle on iPhone or Android?

Yes. Open the cropper in your mobile browser, choose a photo, and use the position, zoom, and circle size controls to frame it. Download a PNG with transparent corners or a white-background JPG.

3

How can I make a circular profile picture without cutting off my face?

Zoom out slightly, center your face, and leave room around your hair, glasses, and shoulders. Check the live preview before downloading, especially if the destination app adds a border.

4

How do I make a round image with a transparent background?

Choose PNG before downloading. It keeps the area outside the circle transparent; it does not remove the original background inside the circle.

5

Why does my circle image have a white background?

JPG cannot store transparency, and some apps display transparent PNG areas as white. Download PNG for transparent corners, then check it in the app where you plan to use it.

6

Will cropping my image into a circle make it blurry?

Choose Original detail to keep the maximum available resolution from the cropped area. Start with a clear source image—a larger download cannot restore detail that is not in the original crop.

7

What size should a circular profile picture be?

Use the size required by the destination site or app. If none is specified, 512 × 512 pixels is a practical default; choose 256 × 256 for small displays, enter a custom size from 16 to 4096 pixels, or use Original detail for the maximum available resolution.

8

Is this circle image cropper free and watermark-free?

Yes. You can crop and download an image for free without an account, signup, or watermark.

9

Are my images uploaded to a server?

No. Your image is decoded, cropped, and exported in your browser; it is not sent to an image-processing server.
